Set up in 2007, Chimerica Media produces high quality history documentaries for television broadcast. They are well known for their documentary the Ascent of Money broadcast by Channel 4 and presented by Niall Ferguson.
They required the design of a new brand logotype and website to promote current and forthcoming documentaries to prospective financiers and TV channels. Content management functionality was key as they required a facility to upload new production photography and video clips.
FIFO approached the design of both the logo and website using strong bold colours that would stand out in the non-nonsense environment of television. The black background of the website was adopted in order to emphasise the video and photographic content.
The website was developed using MODx content management system giving Chimerica Media a simple-to-use environment to add and edit content. Production stills and video content - both dynamically published through Flash-based SlideShowPro - were content manageable through the CMS by integrating SlideShowPro with MODx.
FIFO were patient with our techno-phobias and very good value for the amount of time they put into our project. They designed a website that is expandable as our company (hopefully) grows and is easily maintainable by us. But above all they have made a very good looking website which has already won admiring comments - which is, after all, the whole point of creating it in the first place.
