Glendinning Management Consultants is a specialist consultancy, considered to be global leaders in the creation and implementation of sales and marketing solutions. As part of a global integrated marketing strategy, they required a content managed website that would service the brand awareness and lead generation needs of their 10 global offices, giving each office independent control over their website content.
Throughout the scoping phase, various needs were flagged as being fundamental to the success of the website, namely: easy-to-understand customer-centric taxonomy and information architecture, search engine friendly content and internal linking; and from a back-end perspective, permissions-based editing.
FIFO's conceptual design focused heavily on "people-centricity" whilst the website development adopted MODx CMS to fulfil the content management role.
Deploying MODx fulfilled all of the above requirements, giving Glendinning's content editors control over navigation taxonomy, URL structure, internal link anchor text and thereby encouraging best practice SEO web design in addition to usability. MODx's document properties functionality meant that each office was able to edit only certain sections within the website fulfilling the requirement for permissions-based editing.
