SmartPly: Multi-lingual Content Managed Website Design
Background
Website design and development for SmartPly is a European-based manufacturer of OSB (Oriented Strand Board) an environmentally-friendly timber based solution. They are owned by Coillte, the state owned Irish Forestry Board.
SmartPly approached FIFO to offer a fresh approach to the SmartPly website as well as to build the website on a framework that would allow for growth both in terms of content and also languages.
Solution
Given the environmental nature of SmartPly's products - particularly the environmental sustainability - the design direction was already mapped out. Care was taken to deliver an uncluttered design that would appeal to a diverse group of web users - architects, builders and merchants - not all of whom were web-savvy.
FIFO developed the English language website, and the subsequent Dutch language version using MODx CMS, choosing it for its ease of deploying multi-lingual content.

We invited FIFO to tender for the production of our website after being recommended to us. After researching our needs and listening to us, they produced some fantastic ideas.
