Compaq: Case Study

Context and brief

Compaq is one of the largest computer manufacturers in the world. In order to maintain its tradition of recruiting the most talented graduates, Compaq required an online and offline recruitment campaign appealing to young and savvy final year university students. Although brand adherence was of paramount importance, the creative brief would give the opportunity for an agency to add colour and individuality to the existing corporate style. From a technical perspective, data collected from all online applications required interfacing with the data gathering systems of the 3rd party clearing house.

Results

FIFO were able to stretch the Compaq creative guidelines enough to a produce a website that won awards for both design and technology; as the website contained hidden layers and dynamic navigation adding depth and interest for potential applicants. In turn, thousands of graduate applications were received which converted to 200 successful appointments. Both online and offline collateral created stood apart from other IT sector graduate campaigns.
